Bloomberg has reported that automaker has filed for a patent on a feature that could lead to flying cars.

According to Application 20150246720, published in the database of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Sept. 3, this feature is a “stackable wing for an aerocar.”

If approved, this feature can change shape, with one configuration for when it is stacked atop the car roof and another more aerodynamic shape for when it’s deployed for flight.
